The original BED-BAR was invented in 1990 by David J. Brown. Mr. Brown’s grandmother had fallen and broken her hip. Brown, a Mechanical Engineer, used his expertise to create a device to help her get in and out of bed while convalescing from her fall. After seeing how beneficial the BED-BAR was to his grandmother (pictured right), Brown decided to share the product with others. The BED-BAR is patented in the United States, Europe and Canada. It is distributed by BEDBAR INC. of Westhampton, MA, USA. Today BED-BAR’s assist people around the globe. The BED-BAR offers confidence and mobility to people who would otherwise have difficulty getting in and out of bed. BED-BAR’s can be found in private homes, assisted living facilities as well as nursing homes. The BED-BAR is endorsed by Doctors, Nurses and Physical and Occupation Therapists.
